Not The Onion of the Day: This is a screengrab from today’s Fox Nation story on President Obama’s support of gay marriage. It has since been changed to read: “Obama flip flops on gay marriage.” Still a fail.

2012 Resolutions!
Last year I think I was too generic in my resolutions so I couldn’t really put a check mark in any of the boxes. This year I thought it would be better to have more specific resolutions to work on
1. Drink More Water
I am the first person to reach for a soda or latte instead of plain water. This will make me healtier and in the long run - save me a lot of cash. I’m not cutting other beverages out, but they should be more like treats and not part of my daily routine
2. Eat Breakfast
As a college student I have really gotten into the habit of not eating breakfast. The excuses are very mundane, “It makes me sick”, “Once I start eating, im always hungry”, “I don’t have time”, “Milk is annoying to buy” and so on. But this year I am making a commitment to eating in the morning. I think it will help me stay focused during the day and more energized! I mean they do say breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
3. Make Deans List
Now I technically have already achieved this goal - but I tend to have it every semester. Since last semester was the first time I got Dean’s List I now see, I can actually do it! Even though my classes will be harder - I want to maintain this pace with school.
4. Be less hard on myself
I never really noticed before but recently some of my really close friends have been pointing out that I am really hard on myself. The truth is, I put myself down before others have a chance to so it hurts less. Its a defense mechanism that I developed over my years of awkwardness that stuck. I know this resolution can’t be measure but I still think it’s an important one
5. Run a Race
Last year my resolution was to “get healthy”. Although some parts of this was achieved, I really had nothing to show for it. So this year I have decided that I want to RUN (not walk) my first race. I didn’t specify a distance for a reason - so it’s a bit open ended. Right now a few of my friends and I are eyeing a race at the end of the summer. It’s called the color race where you start wearing all white and by the end of the race you are covered in paint marking each “K” you ran. Sounds like an easy way to accomplish this resolution
Well I hope 2012 brings great things for myself, friends, family and followers
Resolutions Revisited: 2011
I thought it would be productive to look at last years resolution and reflect on how I did before I make my new ones for 2012.
These were my resolutions
1. Get an A (or B) in a science based class
As I took off for an entire semester - I wasn’t sure about this one but when I returned in the fall to school I not only got an A (or B) in a science class - but I even went on to make my school’s Dean’s List! My first time too! I am really proud of my improvement and wish to keep rackin’ in these A’s in 2012
2. Get Healthy
This was definitely not a fail, but I didn’t do so well either. I became alot more mentally healthy and really worked on a lot of internal issues. As for the outside - I hope to make a better goal for next year, that I actually stick to
3. Stay Organized
I probably was more organized this year than I have been in the past. I think this helped with my success in school but I still have a long way to go.
4. Be alittle More Selfish
Mostly an Epic fail, I just don’t have it in me
5. Maintain Sanity
Well I am still standing, soooo I guess this one is also a success overall.
I will be writing my 2012 Resolutions soon!!
6 Months to Live
If you were told you only had six months to live, how would you spend your time:
The absolute first thing I would do would be to drop out of school. I wouldn’t want to spend my final moments being stressed out about exams or grades. The second thing I would do is spend a massive amount of time with family and close friends. I wouldn’t want to worry them. I would want to leave my imprint on their lives so that they can carry my soul along with them in their own lives. After that I would travel, a lot. It is hard to decide whether I would want to go with family around or if I would prefer to die else where so they would not have to watch me suffer then be returned afterward. Either way I would spend as much time traveling as I possibly have. I don’t have a large bucket list but there are some things I would want to do
Ride a Wave

See an incredible sunset

Go to Universal Theme Park
![]()
See the west coast

Watch as much Broadway as possible

See the eiffel tower at night

drink wine in spain

I would live my life differently, while maintaining my own essence of self. I would live with no regrets, without holding back and with less caution and fear. As hard is it is to say, when death is inevitable it makes it less scary and instead of dwelling on the end of live, I would try and rejoice.
